• Talented artistes from the West End, Film, and TV
• Hundreds of young performers from Redroofs School for the Performing Arts
• Other incredible local talent
Carolyn Mayling, Charity Founder said: “The excitement is building and there will be plenty of work behind the scenes making the Gala extra special. I am also thrilled that there will be the first public reading of the latest children’s book I have written called Rosie’s Rainbow Conga which is beautifully illustrated by accomplished artist Ursula Hurst and will be shown on a giant screen.
Another FIRST will be the live performance of newly written Rosie’s Rainbow Conga song written by Dean Amer with Lyrics by Carolyn Mayling and Dean Amer, performed by a troupe of specially selected young singers.
“The fabulous bonus for audiences this year is the live launch and audience involvement of the accompanying ‘Make the Conga Longa’ Social Media charity campaign which is a great companion to the book highlighting the benefits of music therapy. We hope people will be encouraged to do the dance with friends, family and even pets! We thought wouldn’t it be fun if people do this conga around the world and we are hoping the audiences and our followers and influencers will make this happen.”
· Following the tragic death of budding performer Rosie Mayling in 2003, her family honoured Rosie’s wish to help sick children by founding Rosie’s Rainbow Fund. Since its inception, the charity has raised millions of pounds to provide music therapists, family support and bereavement counselling for people with very sick children in hospital.
